The Pin Is Mightier Than The Sword

I think the needle and thread is one of my favourite tools to work with because it does so much more than just stitch things together. You can use it to make a line as well as attach things. It is like glue and a pen or pencil all in one.

These are some little booties I made with the
Heather Bailey pattern for Gareth's little nephew. They were meant to be shell tops but I got it a little mixed up when I was cutting it out. I also just learnt how to blanket stitch. I know it is simple, but it took me a few internet tutorials to understand. Once I got going I was fine, but starting it off was a little tricky.

Hi,

I was just checking out people that paint and came across your blog. I hate to be the materialistic American, but you do have something that could be very commercial with those girls you do. They are special. You all could put them on t-shirts for little girls, etc., etc. I think you are sitting on something that would sell big in the states. I hope I didn't ruin your day. I just thought perhaps you needed a little encouragement to take them to the next level.

Good luck. You are very talented.

Too cute, thanks for reminding me of this pattern. I'd seen it floating around the net ages ago but I got some gorgeous wool felt in the post the other day and now I know what I'm gonna do with it! Make my new bubby some booties and some for a few friends who are having or had bubs too!!

I love blanket stitch, it was the first stitch I learnt to do by hand! It is great with applique, very versatile. Have a great weekend.

I just reminded myself with Lichtenstein, you are right, not only the half tone but the use of blue and yellow. thanks.
