Exciting But Boring

The last few weeks Gareth and I have been working on an ordering system called Stocklist for my wholesale accounts. While it is exciting behind the scenes it also a little boring as I can't share it with the rest of the world. It basically lets people design their own Anna Laura product so I don't have to tell people to look at my Flickr account to get an idea on what I am doing. If you are wanting a bag, you can select a print, a fabric colour, a lining colour and a strap colour with just a few clicks and I can upload it all very easily and change things with just a couple of clicks.

Gareth has finished all the coding and it is impressive. If you're looking for a man and you are thinking you want a musician or an artist try and refrain and go for a computer programmer instead. Sure they will turn you into a nerd who gets excited by a take away curry, a few beers and the X Files on DVD, but who are you kidding, that was all you ever wanted anyway.

Now it is up to me to get everything uploaded and looking pretty. Above is a bit of a sneak peak, but it is not anywhere near finished just yet. I have been photographing fabrics and uploading things to get it somewhere near completion and I am aiming for next week as the date to launch.

That's fantastic! You sound very excited about it.

Personally I always found musician boyfriends to be unreliable. I prefer my nerdy computer programmer too ...

Thats amazing! I agree with Michelle, musician boyfriends are often unreliable ,easy on the eye but narcissistic.
I count myself lucky having found a gentlemen who is good with numbers as well as being very handsome.
Admittedly he is my second husband so my failure rate is running high.
Congratulations on not only what promises to be a fantastic venture, but also a talented man!

That programme looks fantastic!
I never had a musician or arty boyfriend.
I do have a husband who can turn his hand to just about anything as long as it doesn't smell bad (not good when you have babies).
He's clever and handsome too. I can't believe he's mine...

I have recently wrote in a forum, that there seems to be some correlation with crafty women, paired to techie men? There is a scientific research paper in there somewhere! Your stocklist programme looks amazing, best of luck with it.

So exciting Anna - I love a bit of tech support. The date is terrible at that sort of stuff - it's lucky I have a tech geek for a brother.

well, still, i kinda like my musician boyfriend. he's in the corner crying now because everyone prefers geekie techs.

although i would love to know a bit more about how to make a website... i also like being played to on the trumpet, mandolin, balalaika! AND! I never have to spend money on a cd again, his collection is taking over our livingroom. don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing though?

Your idea looks great anna, hopefully see you on saturday!
