I realised the other day that stretching my prints over canvas might be a good idea, then Jason commented on my last post and suggested the idea and I thought I might do it today. I got five frames and then went hunting through all my prints to find ones that was the right size. The above peacock fitted perfectly which was nice as some of the other fabrics were a little bit too small to be stretched.
The print below isn't a screenprint but a lino print and actually could be used in Loobylu's Friday Archives because it is from second year of Art School in 2000. It's from a photo I took of Flinders Street Station and the person at the front was my roommate in first year, Pammy. I did some of the lino prints on different green fabrics and found them in my old bedroom when I did a big clean out a few months back and brought them back up to Melbourne.
I'm at Rose Street tomorrow so pop on by if you're hanging round Brunswick Street looking for something to do. For once the reports say it isn't going to rain and hopefully it is nice and warm as last week it was pretty chilly.

I'll be at Rose St tomorrow, I'll come say hi :)
They look gorgeous...especially on the large boxy frames.
They look great - I love the boxy frames too!
Good luck at the market on the weekend.
PS. I've got myself a new blog at http://mejika.typepad.com

What a great idea, they look really good! I esp like the red birds one :) I can imagine that selling at Rose Street today if you take it :)

These are divine! Nice going!
These look fantastic! You have such a wonderful style.
ohhh very nice!!
I've been so slack lately but gee you never stop, you have so much good stuff going on and these print look fabulous over the frames.
How do you go about stretching them?
I've got an "artpron" from Third Drawer Down that I want to stretch but I have no idea how to do it! Is it literally as easy as building the wooden frame and using a staple gun to attach the linen? I wonder...
